Biography
John Sherman served in the Army during World War II. His unit was the Headquarters Battery 1125th Armored Field Artillery Battalion with the 10th Mountain Division. Sherman was given a citation for jumping onto a driverless truck and gaining control, during a barrage of heavy fire, saving lives and supplies.
