Biography
One of four children of Swedish immigrants (three boys and a girl). Father had a dry cleaner/tailor shop started in 1927 in Mountain Lake, MN. Bayer saw action in Algeria, Tunisia, Sicily, landed at Normandy on June 6, 1944 and proceeded through France, Belgium, Germany, and Czechoslovakia with the 16th Infantry Regiment. After the War, he went home and worked over 40 years at the shop in Mountain Lake.
