Biography

Role in Service: Special Vehicle Operator. Operated a 2,000 gallon semi-trailer refueling planes by means of a pressure pump. Trained at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri; Bowman Field, Kentucky; Florence, South Carolina; Maxton, North Carolina. Lucky 13 fun facts: Sgt. Stalker was inducted into the Army Air Corps on May 13, 1942; departed overseas on May 13, 1943 on the 13th trip the ship made transporting troops; there were 13 planes in the squadron of the 313th Troop Carrier Group. Sgt. Stalker returned to the U.S. on August 16, 1945, and was discharged at Fort Sheridan, Illinois, on September 2, 1945, after serving 40 months.
