Faulkner served in the U.S. Navy as a Pharmacist's Mate, Third Class, V6. He was stationed Kansas City, MO; Cape Girardeau, MO; HQ 93 in Bogue Field, NC; NTS in Great Lakes, IL; Norfolk, VA; Camp Lejeune, NC; Cherry Point, NC; and the 72nd Repl. Draft in the Pacific Theater on USS LSM 473. He was at Gaum and was wounded some time during his service, according to his son. He married Agnes Emma Minter and they lived near Talmage, KS. Faulkner took his son to see Dwight D. Eisenhower when he traveled to Abilene in the 50's and told him"  You are going to see a great man today. The Greatest Patriot." On one of Faulkner's last days, he asked to be taken to the campus of the Eisenhower Presidential Museum to see the bronze statue of Ike. Dana Faulkner passed away in 1986.
