BIOGRAPHY

Dale was born 8 March 1918 to Ellsworth 'Doc' and Edna Mustoe. He worked for Foster Farms near Rexford from 1945 to 1965. He then became postmaster at Rexford. He was a graduate of Kansas State University. He married Virginia Goodwin on Oct. 31, 1942 in Hiawatha. Dale served as a lieutenant commander in the Navy during World War II. He served on active duty for five years and reserved duty for 23 years. He also served as secretary-treasurer for the Kansas Hereford Association, was a school board member for many years and served on the Rexford Community Church board. He was a member of the Lions Club and secretary-treasurer of the Kansas Lions Sight Foundation and served two terms in the Kansas Silver Haired Legislature. He also served 19 years on the Northwest Kansas Area Agency on Aging.

BIOGRAPHY

Harry Nagel was born in Jersey City, NJ and enlisted in the Army after his 18th birthday in 1943. Nagel went to France after D-Day and went on to fight in the Battle of the Bulge, where he was wounded. He recovered and returned to battle and was wounded again in the Rhineland. Rhineland was areas west of the Rhine river.

BIOGRAPHY

James Nagely was born near Detroit, KS on 10/1/1923. His family moved to a farm south of Carlton, KS and he continued to live in the area and attended Chapman schools, graduating with the class of 1941. Nagely entered McPherson college and achieved scholastic recognition and became assistant to Dr. J Willard Hershey a noted chemistry instructor. Nagely was the managing editor of the Spectator college paper and had great music ability. In January of 1944, his draft notice came. He entered the Army 8/03/1944 receiving his basic training at Camp Hood, Tx and left the US in January for overseas combat. Nagely was assigned to Company I, 27th infantry, 25th division who had been fighting in many locations in the south Pacific. Nagely was a rifleman on the rugged Carabello mountains. BIOGRAPHY

Henry Naruszenwicz was born January 3, 1916. He graduated from Johnson High School in North Andover, MA. He entered the army after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. He was 26 yrs old, already married and had a daughter but as he stated "it was serious". Henry sailed in England and crossed the channel entering France at Omaha Beach. The aftermath of D-Day was still all around. Henry fought through with his unit becoming part of the Battle of the Bulge. Henry was recognized by the French Government with the French Medal of Honor and took the Honor Flight to Washington, DC where he visited the World War II Memorial. BIOGRAPHY

Lieutenant, Junior Grade, Benjamin Marion Nash, from Mount Gilead, North Carolina, was killed in action on October 7, 1943, when his submarine, USS S-44 (SS-155), was sunk by a Japanese destroyer off Paramushiru, Northern Kuriles, in the Pacific Theater of World War II. LTJG Nash was awarded the Purple Heart.

 Benjamin E Nash enlisted in Jefferson Barracks, Missouri at 22 years of age. Alfred, a white young man resided somewhere in Missouri, was divorced without dependents, had 2 years of high school, and was working as a skilled compositor/typesetter. He enlisted in November of 1942 under Army serial number 17160985, Army Branch Immaterial - Warrant Officers, USA.
