During his presidency, Eisenhower added the states of Alaska and Hawaii to our nation. How should this be reflected in the American flag? Many Americans sent designs and letters to Ike, hoping to persuade him to choose their design. Students will explore those primary resource letters and then try their hand at persuading the president to choose a new flag design.
