Biography

Karl Milton Funk - 1922 - 1963, was a B52 pilot beginning at the end of World War II.  Funk achieved the rank of Major in his 20 year Air Force career.  Following World War II, while stationed at Columbus Air Force Base near Aberdeen, Mississippi, Major Funk was in command of a B52 on a routine training flight, which crashed shortly after take-off, killing all nine aboard. The date was December 23, 1963. Major Karl Funk was 41 years old.
