John Chinchilla

PVT John “Johnny” Chinchilla was born on 31 March 1919 in Ambridge, PA. He enlisted in 1943. Private Chinchilla was a part of 7th Regiment, 3D Infantry Division. On 22 January 1944 he was shot by machine gun fire while in his landing craft at Anzio, Italy. He died of his wounds on 30 January 1944. His older brother, 1LT Chinchilla, was shot down in his B-24 over Germany later that same year. 1LT Chinchilla was kept as a POW and executed. Both brothers are buried next to eachother at the Luxembourg American Cemetery.
