Biography

John Ayers was born in 1927 and grew up in Dickinson County, Kansas. He attended four years of high school before entering the Army in Fort Leavenworth on October 20, 1941. Ayers had training in Camp Roberts, California, according to records held by the Dickinson County Heritage Center and Museum.
