Edward Mathews

Edward Mathews was born in Independence, Missouri. At age 17, he joined the Navy and five days after graduating from high school, he was going off to war. He became a radio technician stationed on the USS Golf destroyer. As the war went on, he switched and began training to become a Navy Seal. However, the bombs were dropped in Japan, the war ended, and his training on Coronado Island came to a halt.
