Tommy Nelms

Tommy Nelms grew up in Kinglsher, OK, graduated high school an outstanding athlete, and half-back of the football team. Nelms continued to shine as an all-America half back in for the university of Oklahoma and was recognized as a accomplished wrestler. He also played some football for the Army. Nelms worked at a mill in Abilene, KS and met Marjorie Schurr. They were married in November 29, 1942. The couple resided in Hope, KS at the time Tommy was inducted into the Army Air Corps on February 2, 1943.
