Biography

Harry Dale Rhodes was born near Durham, KS. He worked on his mother, Lillie Rhodes's ranch for eight years before entering the service. Rhodes enlisted in the Army Air Corp at Fort Riley, KS. After finishing tests , Rhodes was sent to Fort Leavenworth for more examinations. From there, he was sent to the bombardier school in Midland, TX the largest of its kind in the world. Rhodes trained in the 486th Squadron and then transferred into the 83rd headquarter and air base squadron. He had two brothers, Dale and Bob who also were in the service.
