Biography

Oscar Ayres was born and grew up in the Herrington, KS area. He attended Herington high school and played football and basketball. He was an all star basketball guard with Herington high school's "Big 6" championship team in 1939. Ayres WW II service was with the Navy and he served 7 months overseas in the west pacific before coming back to the the San Francisco Naval base.
