BIOGRAPHY

Wayne was inducted into the US Army in November 1942 at Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas. He was assigned to the 11th Armored, 42nd Tank, Company D, but while overseas and on his discharge paperwork it states he was in the 40th Tank, Company A. He had training in California at Camp Cooke with the light tank 1736. He was in World War II, Battle of the Bulge (Rhineland; Ardennes; Central Europe.) He receive a Purple Heart for frost bite while in Belgium and the Good Conduct Medal.
