Marvin R. Sanders was stationed at Camp Callan near San Diego, a replacement training center for Coast Artillery, later emphasizing training on anti-aircraft weapons. Marvin Sanders also received training at Camp Haan near Riverside, California, and Camp Butner in North Carolina before deploying to the European theater. Pfc. Marvin Rae Sanders served with General Patton's Third Army until V-E day, May 5, 1945.
