"Teachers need our active support and encouragement. They are doing one of the most necessary and exacting jobs in the land. They are developing our most precious national resource: our children, our future citizens."
NOTICE: As of 5:00 P.M. on March 13, 2020, all Presidential Libraries and Museums have been closed to the public until further notice due to the Corona Virus pandemic. On March 17th, Kansas Governor Laura Kelly, in consultation with the Kansas State Department of Education, the Kansas Board of Education, the Kansas Association of School Boards, the Kansas School Superintendents Association, United School Administrators of Kansas and Kansas National Education Association, officially extended the closure of K-12 schools for the duration of the 2019-2020 school year by Executive Order # 20-07. As of 5:00 P.M. on March 18, the Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum has ordered all non-essential staff to work from home.
This means that all on-site field trips have been cancelled through the 2019-2020 school year. While we are saddened by this, IKEducation has many resources available to students and teachers here on our website, and we are working to provide more rich virtual learning opportunities on our website. Please stay tuned, stay safe and Ike On!

During the 2019-20 academic year, Ike Express will bring the legacy of Dwight D. Eisenhower on the road to schools across Kansas. Designed as an option for schools who have been unable to make the trip to Abilene, this outreach program will take select IKEducation programs, including artifacts and documents from our extensive teaching collection, into a teacher’s very own classroom.
The Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum offers educational programs for several youth organizations, like the Scouts, as well as supporting many national programs like the National Geographic Bee and National History Day. Set up your visit today!
