Biography

Marvin R. Sanders was stationed at Camp Callan near San Diego, a replacement training center for Coast Artillery, later emphasizing training on anti-aircraft weapons. Marvin Sanders also received training at Camp Haan near Riverside, California, and Camp Butner in North Carolina before deploying to the European theater. Pfc. Marvin Rae Sanders served with General Patton’s Third Army until V-E day, May 5, 1945. After serving with the 89th division, he was transferred into an occupation force in Germany after a period of duty in France, then he returned to the 83rd division. Pfc. Marvin R. Sanders is a younger brother to WWII veterans and Ike’s Soldiers John L. Sanders and Robert D. Sanders, KIA.
