Biography

George Ayre was born in Gage County, Nebraska. In 1911, while living in VA, he purchased a section of land in Washington County, KS, writing the paper to rave about the fine farmland in Kansas. Ayre was living in Talmage, KS December 23, 1940 when he registered for the selective service. Ayre was inducted into the Army February 19, 1941.
