Biography

David Wayne Axton was born in Osawatomie, Kansas, in 1918. He had completed one year of college and was married to Mildred Tuttle when he enlisted in the U.S. Army. Axton entered the Army at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. He served until 1946 and reached the rank of Staff Sergeant.
