Sergeant Daniel J. Knapp, a native of Walton. was killed in action in France on June 7, 1944. He had been in the North African and Sicilian campaigns. Sergeant Knapp was born Aug. 10. 1918. in Walton. and resided in the vicinity of Bainbridge and Afton before moving to West Laurens. He attended Bainbridge High School.
