Biography

Benjamin Porter was born in 1921 on a farm outside of Hoxie, Kansas. In 1934, the Porter family would move to Mayfield, Kansas, and he would live there with his family until he was drafted to World War II in 1942. After his Honorable Discharge in 1945, he would move to Wichita, Kansas and marry his wife, Wynona Rouse, in 1947. Benjamin and his family would eventually move to Gypsum, Kansas in 1963, where he would reside until his passing in 2010.
