Biography
Alec Guinness de Cuffe was born April 2, 1919 in Maida Vale, London, England and was an English actor. He had a long acting career including portraying Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars. Guinness served in the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve in WW II, initially as a seaman in 1941, before receiving a commission as a temporary Sub-lieutenant on April 30, 1942. He had a promotion to Temporary Lieutenant the following year. Guinmess commanded a Landing Craft Infantry at the Allied Invasion of Sicily and later ferried supplies and agents to the Yugosiav partisans in the eastern Mediterranean theatre.
