Abraham “Abe” Vigoda was born on February 24,1921 in Brooklyn, NY. Abe graduated High School and worked as a printer before enlisting in the US Army in 1943. He was discharged in 1946 and used the GI Bill to study acting at The American Theater Wing in New York City. Not much is know about his military career but he was proud of his military services – as his gravestone states “US Army World War II . Abe had a successful acting career including parts in “The Godfather” and Fish on the series “Barney Miller”, which led to a spin off to the series “Fish” . He also appeared on many other TV services such as Mannix, Hawaii Five-O, The Rockford Files, MacGyver and Law & Order – to name a few. Courtesy of WW II uncovered.
