Spotlight Program: Mamie Eisenhower: First Lady of Service and Leadership

Students will discover the life and legacy of Mamie Eisenhower and explore the important role of a First Lady. Through stories, photographs, and historical examples, students will learn how Mamie supported President Dwight D. Eisenhower, represented the nation, and used her position to serve others. Students will examine the causes of other First Ladies, and compare the leadership, service, and passions of these remarkable women. Students will reflect on how character, dedication, and a commitment to helping others can make a difference in their own communities.
