Lunch & Learn with Shelly Cline, Midwest Center for Holocaust Education

Thursday, May 28, 2020

The guest speaker for this program is Shelly Cline, Director of Education & Historian with the Midwest Center for Holocaust Education (MCHE). Through a study of the Holocaust and the stories of the people who experienced it, MCHE seeks to increase compassion and understanding. They teach what can happen within a democratic society when hatred and bigotry go unchallenged, and encourage individual responsibility by showing how the actions of one person can make a difference. MCHE relates the events of the past to contemporary issues of intolerance. Located at the Jewish Community Campus in Overland Park, MCHE reaches thousands of youths and adults each year through school and community outreach programs, often offered in cooperation with other not-for-profits. The Lunch & Learn series is sponsored by the Union Pacific Foundation and the Eisenhower Foundation. A light lunch will be provided on a first come, first served basis. RSVP not required.
