Movie: "On the Basis of Sex" [2018] Ruth Bader Ginsberg Story- Arts Council of Dickinson County Winter Film Festival

Sunday, February 16, 2020

This film tells an inspiring and spirited true story that follows young lawyer Ruth Bader Ginsburg (Felicity Jones) a new mother and attorney struggling in a field dominated by men, and fighting for equal rights for women. When Ruth teams with her husband, attorney Martin Ginsburg (Armie Hammer), to bring a groundbreaking tax case before the U.S. Court of Appeals, she knows it could forever change the way the courts and the United States view gender discrimination. Ginsburg’s historic career lead to her nomination and confirmation as U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice more than 25 years ago. This series is sponsored by the Arts Council of Dickinson County in partnership with the Eisenhower Presidential Library. All films are free and open to the public. You're invited to bring toiletry items which the Arts Council will donate to the Abilene Area Food Pantry.
