Could you live in a fallout shelter? During the Eisenhower Era of the 1950s, the Cold War prompted families to build fallout shelters to protect themselves against a potential nuclear catastrophe. As President, Dwight Eisenhower needed to assure the country that they were safe. This program discusses how famlies, communities, and schools prepared. Students will analyze primary sources and make choices about what items they would include in a fallout shelter.
