Biography

Arthur Stefek was born in Hope, KS in 1917, the only boy of 5 children. He was in the graduating class of 1935 and spent at least 2 years teaching before joining a traveling barber, spending1 1/2 years with the company. Stefek next was employed at the Boeing aircraft factory in Wichita until he was inducted into the Army in 1942. Induction was at at Fort Leavenworth and basic training was at Camp Carson, CO. Stefek was assigned to the Medical Corps but a short later was moved to the Military Police Detachment Corps. His work consisted of inspecting trains.
