Tuesday, October 10, 2017

"Songs of the Lost" is an immersive recital by Grammy and Emmy award-winning musician Bryan Pinkall. The evening will feature music from victims of World War II, including American band leader Glenn Miller, plus new work by US Army Captain Patrick Dittamo inspired by poetry from the only survivor of both atomic blasts, Yamaguchi Tsutomu. Dr. Bryan Pinkall is an Assistant Professor, School of Music, Theatre and Dance, at Kansas State University. Dr. Pinkall, a native of Great Bend, Kansas, received a 2016 Grammy Award for Best Choral Performance. Specializing in the production of large artistic events, Pinkall was an artistic director for the 2014 Sochi Olympic Winter Games Opening Ceremony which earned four Primetime Emmy nominations, winning one.
