#GivingTuesday Benefits IKEducation

We have two days for getting deals - Black Friday and Cyber Monday. On #GivingTuesday, we have a day for giving back. Together, people are creating a new ritual for our annual calendar. #GivingTuesday is the opening day of the giving season: a reminder of the "reason for the season."

This year, the Eisenhower Foundation will participate in our first ever #GivingTuesday campaign to raise funds for IKEducation, the innovative K-12 program offered free of charge to schools visiting the Eisenhower Presidential Library, Museum and Boyhood Home. Donations will be put toward Ike's Field Trip Fund that provides programs and activities, transportation stipends, and a special lunch for school groups. The foundation hopes to raise $5,000 to be able to provide another 10 transportation stipends to schools who want to travel to Abilene, Kansas.

As one teacher from Wichita, Kansas, said about her IKEducation experience and Ike's Field Trip Fund grant award, "This field trip was one of the best I have been on in my seven years of teaching! It was very well organized, but also very flexible. The activities held the student's attention and they were very interested in all of the activities. I truly hope this grant remains available because it is very valuable to students!"
