Kansas Stories of the Vietnam War - memoir writing workshop

Saturday, May 19, 2018

To commemorate 50 years since the escalation of U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War, Humanities Kansas is partnering with several organizations, including the Eisenhower Presidential Library, for a statewide project, “Kansas Stories of the Vietnam War.” Published poet and writing instructor, Al Ortolani, will discuss with attendees how to use notes, drafts, journal entries, and other methods to create moving and honest writing. Participants will have the opportunity to submit collected stories to the Veterans History Project of the Library of Congress. This workshop is free and open to the public. Writing experience is not required. For more information, contact Pam Sanfilippo at the Eisenhower Presidential Library, 785-263-6754.
