Launched in time for the Spring 2017 school semester, Ike's Field Trip Fund is designed to provide financial support to schools visiting the Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum. Your entire donation will be used to reimburse schools for transportation expenses associated with visiting Abilene, Kansas.
The Eisenhower Foundation supports Ike’s belief that, “The true purpose of education is to prepare young men and women for effective citizenship.” Never in our country’s history has it been more important for the youth of America to have a role model like Dwight D. Eisenhower, who knew that the essence of leadership involved the qualities of selfless dedication, courage, conviction, fortitude, humility, and the ability to inspire. IKEducation brings the story of this great American to today’s students, the next generation, through interactive programs that utilize primary sources from the Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum.
IKEducation's programs, as well as admission to the Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum, are offered free of charge to visiting school groups. Since launching in fall 2013, over 15,000 students, teachers, and adults have taken part in this unique program. As one teacher explained, “It’s a once in a lifetime experience for most of the students!”
